Katie Pryde

Katie is a queer single mom who has lived in Portland since 2009. She has a MA in Science and Technology Studies and has worked and volunteered in bike advocacy, literary publishing, education, and tech. She started award-winning comic book store Books with Pictures in 2016. In 2019 she put together a corporation, Building for Books, to purchase and manage the Books with Pictures property, which also encompasses record store My Vinyl Underground and food cart pod Short Box Food Carts. In her off hours, she plays guitar and ukulele, bakes, and serves the Burning Man community as a Black Rock Ranger.
